For our Fifth year, all New York City Design Students where invited by the New York Section of the IESNA to participate in a citywide design competition on the study of light and shadow on March 15th at the Center for Architecture. 27 NYC student entries where submitted representing Parson School of Design, FIT, and Pratt. Four winners where selected.

, the IESNY Student Grant Competition allowed students to explore light as an art form, demonstrate light as a stimulus, and prove light is a valuable medium.
The objective of this years design challenge was to develop a three-dimensional study of light, inspired by the relationship between shadows over time. The entry guidelines where the submission could be made of any material, must include an electric light source, and must be transportable in a cab.
