Marty Salzberg has just returned from the ASHRAE/IES 90.1 meeting and will give us a report on upcoming changes to the lighting power density requirements in addendum “by”. Jack Bailey will report on the development of a “green code” by the International Code Council along with reports from NYC by Deborah Taylor of the Department of Buildings and Laurie Kerr from the Mayor’s Office. This and more breaking stories that will effect the way you work in the lighting industry.

Charles Cameron has been creating environments with light for over two decades. After spending nearly ten years as an integral part of two internationally renowned architectural lighting design firms, Charles’ become a principal designer. A desire to collaborate with the innovative Bentley Meeker led to the creation of Meeker Cameron Lighting Design Group. Charles also spreads his ideas about lighting at the New York School of Interior Design, through legislative advocacy, as a member of the IALD???s Energy and Sustainability Committee and by contributing to the New York City Section of the IES as its Vice President.

Marty Salzberg is a Senior Associate at Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design. She is a Professional Member of the IALD, where she serves on the Energy & Sustainability Committee. As a member of the IES, Marty has been the secretary of the Library Lighting Committee since 2003 and serves on the CBEA (Commercial Buildings Energy Alliance) Lighting working group. She became a voting member of the ASHRAE 90.1 Lighting Sub-Committee in July 2009, and has been hard at work updating the Standard for 2010.
Laurie Kerr

Senior Policy Advisor at NYC Mayor's Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability.
Laurie Kerr is a Senior Policy Advisor for the NYC Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability. In this position, she helped develop PlaNYC and has been instrumental in the development of the city’s greenhouse gas reduction plan, the existing building energy legislation, and the greening of the city’s codes. She has over fifteen years experience practicing architecture, and her architectural criticism has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Slate, and Architectural Record. Prior to receiving her M. Arch. from Harvard, Laurie earned degrees in engineering and physic.
